The Ruins of Rangsdorf Airfield

Rangsdorf is a little town in the district of Teltow-Fläming, an idyllic setting in the Brandenburg countryside in Germany.  It has an abandoned airfield. In 1944 an event occurred that would ensure the airfield Rangsdorf went down in history, as part of Operation Valkyrie .  On July 20th, Claus von Stauffenberg and Werner von Haeften took off from the military airfield in Rangsdorf on a mission to assassinate Adolf Hitler, a plot that unfortunately failed.
